Nourish Your Neighbor: A Fresh Food Drive

Donate fresh produce to neighbors in need! Purchase extra produce at one of the FCPA Farmers Markets and drop it off at the Market Information tent. Donations then go to local food pantries for distribution. Only market-bought fresh produce and is accepted. The program will be held on the last market day of the month at all Fairfax County Park Authority Markets. The next donation week will be Wednesday, August 27 - Sunday, August 31.


Celebrate National Farmers Market Week, August 3-9!

Fairfax County Park Authority’s Farmers Markets will join Farmers Markets across the nation in celebration of National Farmers Market Week, August 3-9. The celebratory week highlights the role of Farmers Markets in supporting local farmers, stimulating local economies, and providing a place for neighbors to learn, grow, and connect. Join us at one of our 10 Farmers Markets as we recognize the contributions of our local farmers and food producers to the Fairfax community! To celebrate we will have live music, kid's activities and free giveaways.


Music at Market

At this time, The Fairfax County Park Authority Farmers Markets are not accepting musician applications. Applications will re-open 2026.

Interested musicians should review the Guidelines and Apply Below

  • The Fairfax County Park Authority operates 10 markets throughout Fairfax County, Va.
  • Musicians are welcome to apply to perform at any of the 10 markets noted on the Fairfax County Farmers Markets website 
  • Scheduling will be based on the needs of each market and musicians are not guaranteed a performance at the Fairfax County Farmers Markets.
  • Musicians under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or representative over 21 for the duration of their performance. The performer must provide their own equipment, such as sound systems, power source,tent, chair, table, etc., and their own technical support. Battery powered amplified music is welcomed, as no electricity is available onsite.
  • Farmers Markets are held rain or shine. Cancellation by the performer must be made at least one week prior to the event
  • The performer is responsible for securing all required licensing rights permitting the use of copyrighted materials prior to performance.
  • Musicians that are invited by Farmers Market Staff to play inside the farmers market are permitted to collect tips and donations but are not permitted to sell CDs, merchandise, or other items.
  • Approval to perform in the farmers market requires written approval from Farmers Market staff through a Signed Agreement that states musicians will provide a family-friendly experience to engage the farmers market community.
  • Bands or groups performing in the market must be within the boundaries of a 10’ x 10’ space.

  • Smoking and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited at the Farmers Market site.
  • Performers are permitted a 10’x10’ space, and the location in the market is at the discretion of the market manager.
  • Tents are permitted, but not supplied by the farmers market. Any tent, canopy, or umbrella used at the market must be weighted down at all times from the moment it is erected until it is taken down with a minimum of 25 lbs. per leg. If tents, canopies, or umbrellas are not adequately secured, we will require the performer to to take them down and perform without them.
  • The Farmers Market Manager maintains control of announcements and performance volume levels. All public announcements made at the farmers market site must be preapproved by the Park Authority, and lyrics must be appropriate for the famers market environment. Use of profanity, adult themes or otherwise disruptive behavior that effects market operations will be cause for expulsion from the market and will subject the performer to forfeit future scheduled performances.

  • All performers must apply through Marketspread.
    • Upon creation of a vendor profile, choose vendor type Entertainment.

  • Completed applications do not guarantee selection as a selected official performer.
  • Accepted applicants will be notified within seven business days. 
  • Accepted performers can select preferred markets to perform at.
