Multimedia Producer/Editor - Public Information Office

Agency: Park Authority

Salary: $18.88 - $25.17 an hour

Location: Herrity Building, 12055 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035

Schedule: 15-20 hours a week, not to exceed 900 hours per calendar year


  • Under direct supervision of the agency’s Public Information Officer, and at the direction of the Administrative Assistant IV, the Video & Multimedia Producer/Editor will support the public information office through creation of video and graphic content.
  • This individual will support an increased need for visual, virtual content across the agency.
  • The Video & Multimedia Producer/Editor will film and edit video content and support multimedia content creation for virtual marketing and promotions, educational programs, events, informational messages, and public meetings.
  • An understanding of social media including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, and which videos work best on each platform is vital.
  • This role will also serve as backup to host/produce online events and public meetings using Facebook Live, Instagram Live, YouTube Live, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco WebEx.
  • This individual will be responsible for communicating brand messaging, educational information, and stories through eye-catching video and multimedia content.
  • The role will manage multiple projects at a time, ranging from short, quick video clips to more heavily polished, branded videos, and occasional longer-form interviews and public service announcements.
  • Transport camera and video equipment to various Park Authority sites and events in county owned vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications: .

  • 1-2 years of video editing and production experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with camera equipment including lighting and audio
  • Ability to shoot quality footage on multiple devices from smartphones and tablets to camcorders and DSLRs
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects
  • Video editing skills
  • Experience creating title slides, lower thirds, and motion graphics
  • Flexibility, time management and organizational skills to manage multiple video projects, working with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Hootsuite

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve data from a computer is essential.
  • Ability to use camera equipment and editing equipment.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and to work outside.
