Position Title: Adult Education Coordinator/Instructor
Location: Green Spring Gardens; 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22312
Schedule: Must have scheduling flexibility to allow for weekday and weekend times as well as occasional evenings. Average 25 hours weekly.
Salary: $16.00 per hour.
Overview: Green Spring Gardens seeks a charismatic team member for immediate hire to teach and schedule horticulture and cultural history programs for adults. This position oversees scheduling, staffing, or finding staff for public and private programs. Applicants should have strong oral communication skills with the ability to present and teach to groups of varying, age, number, and cultural background. This team member will be responsible for planning programs, contracting outside presenters, developing and leading education programs, scheduling volunteers and assisting with events. Additional duties include administrative, volunteer management and customer service.
Required Qualifications: Interest and knowledge base in horticulture, gardening, history, and/or educational programming with excellent oral and written communications skills. Enthusiasm for working with people and developing program content. Ability to present and interpret programs to diverse groups. Some experience in customer service and administrative support. Successful candidate must be able to acquire a thorough knowledge of Recreation Dynamics point of sale system, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, audio visual and standard office equipment.

Note: *This position is scheduled to work a minimum 1,040 hours and no more than a maximum of 1,560 hours in a calendar year. This position is eligible to receive limited benefits, including Medical/Vision/Dental Insurance Coverage, Flexible Spending Program, and Deferred Compensation.

Title: Senior Call Center Operator
Location: Herrity Building: 12055 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax VA 22035
Hours: 8:45AM to 4:15PM, 26-30 hours per week, Monday thru Friday. Occasional flexible workdays required.
Salary: $17 per hour, benefits eligible* (*This position may not exceed 1560 hours per calendar year. Overview: Performs a variety of duties and functions as the agency’s initial contact to the public. Serves as backup for answering the divisions must answer customer service line. Receives calls regarding scholarships, classes, camps, trips, and tours offered through the Parktakes Magazine. Registers, cancels, and transfers programs for customers. Processes registration requests by phone, mail, walk-ins and fax. Receives and processes online scholarship requests. Creates new member accounts and searches for current accounts using Rec Dynamics software. Assists in scheduling activities for adults and children that function at varying levels. Answers Rec Center Membership and pass questions, assist with customer account password resets, account maintenance, scholarship verification and approvals, questions regarding Rec Center operations and hours, explanations of amenities at sites, camping questions, fee assistance, ticketing assistance, picnic questions and assist with walk in customers. Representative will also respond to any customer inquiries about services as well as handle and resolve complaints. Incumbent will be responsible for processing employee pass and class requests as well as scheduling and training employees. Individual should be knowledgeable of department policies. Additional Duties may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus at least two years of experience providing customer service in a related field
Preferred Qualifications: One year of supervisory experience. Excellent customer service skills with strong problem solving, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Data entry accuracy, proficiency using Microsoft Office and Rec Dynamics Point of Sale software. Ability to work independently and on a team. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese.

Overview: Looking for an eager and willing-to-learn individual who is responsible, friendly, and an excellent communicator dedicated to providing high-quality customer service to all.
Duties Include: Operating Point of Sale System, handling cash/card payments, booking reservations, creating accounts, ability to multitask during busy season operating hours, handling phone calls and facility information inquiries, communicate effectively with staff and customers, demonstrates critical thinking skills and resourceful-ness when handling inquiries, driving to sites, working at off-site events.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus at least one year of experience providing customer service in a related field. Must have experience in de-escalation.
