As we head into fall, monarch butterflies embark on their incredible journey southward, driven by the changing temperature and available food. The Fairfax County Park Authority invites you to celebrate these magnificent pollinators and their awe-inspiring migration at Monarch and More on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Registration for the event is $8 per person.
Visit a designated monarch waystation and butterfly garden to delve deeper into the fascinating world of monarchs. Learn how to identify different butterflies, experience the thrill of tagging a monarch raised at the nature center, and contribute to ongoing conservation efforts. This event is a wonderful opportunity for children and adults alike to connect with nature. All attendees must register, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate and protect one of nature’s most extraordinary creatures.
