Court Records
In addition to protecting the public and holding juvenile offenders accountable for their actions, courts have a duty to protect the confidentiality and privacy of juveniles coming before the court. Due to confidentiality laws, the clerk’s office can only provide limited information about a case and then only to those involved (information obtained from Virginia Rules).
While on Probation or in Residential Care
For a probation officer or residential counselor to speak with outside agencies about a youth's case, a Release of Information form must be signed by the youth and parent.
