Tree Id Basics

(All Ages) Using the leaves of trees, mast produced, bark and location within a forest ecosystem goes a long way in helping know our local tree species. The program will focus on some of our more common species, but will touch base on some lesser known varieties that fill various niches within the park woodlands.

Homeschool at the Lake - Spring

(7-12 years) This program for school-aged children focuses on the natural and historical world. Each class session will explore a different topic and include themed hands-on activities.

The topic is pollinators.

Campfire Fridays

(5-Adult) Join us for an evening campfire the whole family can enjoy. Explore the wonders of our natural world through nature walks, interactive activities and animal presentations. Includes s’mores. Topics vary by date. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Sunrise Kayak

(12-Adult) Watch the sunrise on the lake as the wildlife wakes up and welcomes the new day. Listen to the birds tweeting, the insects chirping, and the frogs calling as you paddle around the lake. Single kayaks and all equipment provided.

Super Snakes

(5-Adult) Join a naturalist to meet live snakes and learn why snakes are important then head out on a hike to search for snakes and learn about their habitat and habits. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Program meets at the campground office.
