Natural resource management is the protection and restoration of natural areas within the parks. This includes addressing environmental issues, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, conducting field inventory, assisting with the planning and management of parks, and helping residents understand their role in the stewardship of nature. A Natural Resource Management Plan (NRMP) was approved by the Park Board in 2014. Annual work plans are developed based on the NRMP guidelines.
