The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) is developing the Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Access (PROSA) Strategy to provide a roadmap for improved park access and a stronger balance of recreational experiences to meet the diverse needs of our countywide community. Building on the 2017 Parks & Recreation System Master Plan, Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2019 – 2023, and One Fairfax, the PROSA Strategy will provide a framework for equitable access to FCPA parks and the park system. Phase 1: COMPLETED (2022)
The Park Authority conducted outreach in 2022, which included virtual workshops, a community survey, and in-person outreach. Please find below recordings of the virtual workshops.
Phase 2: COMPLETED (2023)
Building on the previous public engagement, the Park Authority conducted outreach in Summer 2023 focused on the proposed concepts included in the Draft PROSA Report Summary.
Staff is reviewing the public comments and they will update the draft PROSA Strategy report. The report is anticipated to go before the Park Authority Board later this year for review and endorsement.
