Celebrate with friends and neighbors at the free Mount Vernon Rec Center grand reopening event on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fairfax County Park Authority invites everyone to this family-friendly event to enjoy this fresh, new facility and try its new amenities. The Rec Center is located at 2017 Belle View Blvd. in Alexandria.

The exciting lineup of activities includes:

• Skating Expo, clinic and open skate — See skating demonstrations and try skating for yourself
• Kids activities — Fishing for duckies, temporary tattoos, gymnastics room, esports and board games
• Meet and greet with the Washington Nationals George Washington mascot
• Performance by the West Potomac High School Cheer Team
• Music by DJ Infinite Sounds
• Drop-in fitness class demonstrations
• Food trucks and popcorn
• Sensory-friendly station
• Rec Center tours
• Sensory-friendly table
• Indoor climbing wall and aquatic climbing wall access
• Information tables including community partners and Park Authority staff

The Park Authority welcomes attendees to bring food donations for a holiday food drive hosted by Mount Vernon District and Fairfax County Public Schools that benefits local students and their families.
