Picnic Reservations

Thank you for your interest in a Fairfax County Park Authority park for your picnic! We are proud of our parks and are confident that you will enjoy your day. Keep in mind sites are in great demand, so make your reservation early.

To make a reservation, please book online, fill out the web form, or submit an application. Once payment is received, a Sales Receipt (Picnic Permit) will be issued by email.

Book Online: For immediate permitting of select facilities and timeslots (available for rentals 10 or more days in advance)
- Note: Special Requests may take additional time for the approval process. For rentals with no additional requests or issues, final permits will be issued 7-10 business days in advance of the reservation date.
Web Application: Please fill out the web form, this request will be sent directly to the Picnics Department.
- Note: Do NOT include payment information – once the form is received and reviewed you will be contacted to confirm availability, to collect payment information, and complete the reservation process.
Download and complete the Picnic Area/Picnic Shelter Application and submit one of the following ways along with the appropriate payment.
- Mail: FCPA Picnics Department – 12055 Government Center Parkway, Suite 105, Fairfax, VA 22035-5500
  - Note: Do NOT mail cash payments; checks can be made out to "FCPA" & in the memo line include a hold # if one has been provided to you.
- In person: Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – 12055 Government Center Parkway, Suite 105, Fairfax, VA 22035-5500
  - Note: Contact us in advance for updated office hours and staff availability.
- Fax: 703-653-6672
  - Note: Please include payment information on faxed applications.

Web Forms or Applications may take up to 3-5 business days to process. Without a Sales Receipt (Picnic Permit) the reservation is not confirmed. The Picnic Department does not accept reservations over the phone. The Picnic Department stops accepting applications for the upcoming weekend Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

Shelter

Our Shelters offer a versatile space for hosting gatherings, picnics, family reunions and outdoor events. These covered, open-air covered structures provide a comfortable setting with seating, picnic tables and protection from the elements. Perfect for group activities, parties or casual get-togethers, shelters offer a convenient location within the park for your next outdoor occasion.

Picnic Area

The Picnic Areas are ideal for outdoor dining and socializing in a natural park setting. These designated spaces come with picnic tables, trash receptacles and easy access to surrounding amenities. Whether you’re planning a birthday, small gathering or just a relaxing day with family and friends, our picnic areas offer the perfect spot to enjoy your meal and the outdoors. There is no cover.

Canopy

Our Canopies are an excellent choice for events requiring some shade or protection from the weather. These freestanding, temporary structures provide cover for your gathering while still allowing an open-air experience. Perfect for smaller events, outdoor classes or relaxation during a sunny day, canopies offer flexibility for hosting various activities.

Gazebo

The Gazebo is an elegant, scenic setting for special occasions such as weddings, ceremonies or peaceful retreats. This charming, open-sided structure is nestled in a picturesque location within the park, offering both shade and a romantic atmosphere. Ideal for small weddings, anniversaries or tranquil moments, our gazebos offer a serene and beautiful space for any occasion. There is no seating.

Inline Skate Rink

Our Inline Skate Rink is a dedicated space for roller skating enthusiasts of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skater, this smooth, enclosed rink is perfect for practicing your moves or just having fun with friends. With ample room for skating, it’s a great location for group events, fitness or recreational skating.

Futsal Court

The Futsal Court offers an outdoor space designed specifically for the fast-paced, smaller-scale version of soccer. With a hard-court surface and netting for safety, this court provides an exciting venue for futsal matches, team practices, and tournaments. Perfect for athletes or groups looking to enjoy competitive or recreational soccer in a dynamic setting.

Volleyball Court

Our Volleyball Courts provide the perfect environment for a competitive game or casual play with friends and family. Whether you're organizing a tournament or just having fun at the beach or park, our courts offer a sand surface. Available for rent for team events, practices or recreational games, the volleyball courts are designed for outdoor play.

Amphitheater

The Amphitheater is a grand open-air venue for performances, concerts, theatrical productions and community events. With tiered seating and an expansive stage area, the amphitheater is perfect for large gatherings, live music or public speaking events. It provides excellent acoustics and a picturesque backdrop for any performance, making it an ideal location for cultural, artistic or entertainment-focused events.
