Fitness Room

Our cardiovascular machines, which include treadmills, elliptical trainers and bikes, most with personal television viewing screens offer something for everyone.

Audrey Moore RECenter has a variety of Cybex strength training machines and free weight equipment that offer diverse methods for achieving healthy levels of strength training.

Indoor Gymnasium

If you got game or just think you do, this is where to bring it! The RECenter gymnasiums offer you the opportunity to shoot some hoops or join in a pick-up basketball, volleyball or pickle ball game. Looking to walk, jog or run on an indoor track, then check out Spring Hill or Franconia Rec Centers. Occasionally the gyms play host to Club competitions and tournaments, please check out the gym calendar.

Pottery Lab

Our pottery program offers opportunities for students from the beginner to the experienced to be creative in an educational and friendly atmosphere. Check Parktakes Online for class availability.

In addition to classes we have an open pottery lab for experienced potters who want extra time to work on their project.

Racquetball - Walleyball - Handball

Looking to change up your fitness routine try Racquetball and get a great workout. Reservations are required and can be made up to one week in advance. To make a reservation call the RECenter or stop by the Front Desk. Court usage requires General Admission fee in addition to hourly fees. Court fees waived for active Pass holders.

Tennis Courts

Wakefield Park has 11 outdoor lighted tennis courts. Lights go out at or near 11:00 pm. These courts are open to the public as a first come first served or by reservation by calling 703-321-7927. Classes are held all year for beginner through advanced players. Private tennis lessons are also available for $25 for a ½-hour lesson and $50 for a 1-hour lesson. Skate Park

The Skate Park offers a chance for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the thrills and excitement of skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX biking on our Freestyle and Competition courses. The Freestyle course consists of bank ramps, 4 foot quarter pipe, pyramid, grind rails and a grind box. The Competition course consists of a double jump-box, euro gap, bank ramp with kicker, roll-over radius, and a grind box.
