Thank you so much for your interest in the Wonder Wagon Mobile Nature Center.
Unfortunately, we don't have the capacity to accept every request, though we hope to expand soon. However, there are still ways to engage with the Wonder Wagon and environmental education overall.
Find us at a public event! We strongly encourage you to check out our calendar and pay us a visit!
If you are looking for a private site visit, even though the Wonder Wagon may not be able to visit your site on your requested date, there are plenty of other environmental education programs that may be available.
Please see some of our recommendations below:
Fairfax County Park Authority offers school visits for classroom programs. They cost $150 for the first hour and $100 for each additional hour, for groups of 30 kids at a time. These visits often include live animals like turtles, and we can change what topics are covered based on your needs. You can follow this webpage to find the closest park near you.
If you are looking for a free program, we would suggest NOVA Parks Group Programming or Urban Forestry Education Programs. Both of these programs operate from different funding sources and may be able to provide free programming.
IF YOU ARE A SCHOOL:
We also have programs specifically designed for school visits. One of these is the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience . This program is a 1.5-hour school visit that meets the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement education requirements for elementary school students. This program costs $8 per student but is free if you are a Title I school.
Thank you so much for your interest and we hope you find these resources helpful!
