Junior options help young golfers build skills in putting, chipping, irons, woods play, course etiquette and safety practices in a fun and supportive environment. Parent-child classes also available! Clubs are not required, but golfers are encouraged to bring their own if available.

Tod Henby has more than 50 years of experience in the game of golf, with a background that includes instruction, club fitting, retail and golf operations. Following his retirement from the Federal Government and private industry, Tod worked with PGA TOUR Superstore, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Laurel Hill Golf Club and Lansdowne Resort. He began his golf instruction career with Quick Fix Golf at Tupelo Bay in 2020 and 2021. An accomplished player, Tod was the medalist at the 2018 Virginia Senior Qualifying Tournament.

David Hallford is an experienced golf instructor and club fitter who enjoys working with golfers of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Before joining Burke Lake Golf Academy, David served as Director of Golf at Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee. Colonial Country Club hosted the St. Jude Classic from 1972 to 1988 and was the site of Al Geiberger’s historic 59 in 1977. David has been a PGA Class A Professional for more than 20 years.

Originally from Bolton, England, Pete developed a passion for golf at an early age and enjoys helping beginning golfers build confidence and learn the game. Before joining Burke Lake Golf Academy, Pete mentored new golfers on courses in England, Austin, Texas and Northern Virginia, where he has lived since 2011. His passion for teaching and growing the game led him to become a certified golf instructor. Outside of golf, Pete and his wife enjoy spending time with their two children.

Chae Son Yi has more than 20 years of coaching experience, teaching golfers in Korea and Guam ranging from beginners to intermediate players looking to improve their skills and consistency. Chae Son provides personalized private and group instruction focused on creating a fun, supportive and effective learning environment. Her teaching approach includes swing analysis, swing calibration and easy-to-understand instruction designed to help golfers build confidence and improve their game.

JC Joo has more than 15 years of experience in the golf industry as a golf professional, club fitting specialist and repair technician. A member of the United States Golf Teachers Federation, JC teaches private and group lessons, PGA Jr. League, junior instruction and clinics for golfers of all skill levels. He is a certified TrackMan instructor and authorized Mizuno USA club fitter with experience conducting demo day events throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
