Burke Lake Golf Center

Maintenance Worker

  • Maintenance Worker
    • Hourly rate: $12-$15
    • Description: Push mowing small equipment including weed eater and blower. Weeding and mulching, landscaping and gardening. Raking sand bunkers, and debris removal.

Necessary Special Requirements:

Pro Shop Attendant

Position Title: Pro Shop Attendant   
Hours: Year-round, part-time work. Approximately 20 to 30 hours per week. Shifts include opening, closing, weekends, and some holidays.  
Salary: Starting at $10.00 per hour. 
Overview: Looking for eager and willing to learn individual who is responsible, friendly, and an excellent communicator dedicated to providing excellent customer service to all.

Duties Include: 

  • Selling memberships, food/beverage, and pro-shop merchandise.
  • Handling multiple phone calls and facility information inquiries.
  • Demonstrating the ability to multi-task during high traffic operating hours.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of front desk surroundings.
  • Operating a point of sales (POS) system.
  • Ability to be a team player and work well with others.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, customers, volunteers, and front desk manager.
  • Provides comfortable and inviting experiences for customers.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and resourcefulness when handling problems that may occur.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ year of experience in customer service.
  • Cash Handling experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 including Word and Excel.
  • Golf retail experience. 
  • Experience playing/knowledge of golf.

Hours: This position is scheduled 4 days a week, including one weekend day. Shift lengths are generally 6-8 hours long. 
Salary: Pay for this position starts at $10.00 per hour and may increase based on experience and certifications.

Duties Include: 

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons. 
  • Serve food and drinks.
  • Operate a cash register/point of sales system. 
  • Process both cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Clean tables, counters, and kitchen.

Manager on Duty

Position Title: Manager on Duty

Location: Pinecrest Golf Course; 6600 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Hours: Hours vary including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: Starting at $15.00 per hour.

Overview: Manager on duty with a variety of responsibilities to include opening and or closing facility; Conducting cash close-out at end-of-day; Making bank deposits; and assisting customers in all aspects of golf course operation.

Duties Include:

  • Acts as manager on duty in the absence of the manager.
  • Responsible for overseeing staff activity; correct deficiencies as appropriate.
  • Ensure starter and marshal are performing their duties.
  • Assist staff in all aspects of operation including food service.
  • Cleaning and restocking facility for next days' business.
  • Responsible for closing cash registers and completing nightly closing paperwork.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends & holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Golf experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous food service experience preferred.

Jefferson Golf Course

Pro Shop Maintenance/Miniature Golf Attendant 

Salary: $9.50 per hour
Location: 7900 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042
Hours: 15 to 25 hours/week. Weekends and some holiday work is required. Hours may be affected by weather and time of year.

Pro Shop Maintenance: Works alongside a manager on duty to close the pro shop at the end of the day. Aspects of the job include restocking, washing the power carts, cleaning the grill, doing the dishes, sweep/mop/vacuum the pro shop and bathrooms.

Miniature Golf: Works as the attendant to check-in players. In the opening shift you will be required to set up the course. The closing shift requires breaking down the course, cleaning the bathrooms, and straightening up the pavilion. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

Pro Shop and Snack Bar Attendant

Pro Shop and Snack Bar Attendant 

Salary: $10.50 - $12.00/per hour
Location: 7900 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042
Hours: 20-40 hours/week. Weekends and some holiday work is required. Hours may be affected by weather and time of year.

Duties: Manages the tee sheet and POS system. Will be required to learn the snack bar menu and how to make each item. Assists in booking tee times, tennis courts, and birthday party reservations over the phone and in person. This position provides an opportunity for the incumbent to learn the day-to-day operation of Jefferson Golf Center and provides a potential opportunity for advancement to a manager on duty position. 

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Experience in customer service-related jobs
  • Basic knowledge of computers and POS systems
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work as early as 5:00am and as late as 9:30pm

Preferred Certificates and Licenses: A college degree (Associates or Bachelors). First Aid and CPR/AED certification and food manager license.
