Cart Staff

Position Title: Cart Staff   
Location: Laurel Hill Golf Club; 8701 Laurel Crest Drive, Lorton, VA 22079
Hours: Year-round, part-time work. Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. Shifts include opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.  
Salary: Starting at $12.00 per hour.

  • Cleaning/detailing golf carts

Pro Shop Associate  

Position Title: Pro Shop Associate

Assistant Chef 

Position Title: Assistant Chef

Duties Include: 

  • Under supervision, coordinates and participates in the activities of kitchen personnel engaged in preparing, cooking and serving food for consumption. 
  • Accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations. 
  • Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and assists in managing all food related functions. 
  • Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced. 
  • Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved. Also prepares food for special events including weddings and golf tournaments.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; plus one year of experience in the preparation in a small to medium size kitchen operation, specifically in food preparation.

Preferred Qualifications: 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.

Oak Marr Golf Center

Driving Range Attendant

Position Title: Driving Range Attendant
Location: Oak Marr Golf Center; 3136 Jermantown Rd, Oakton, VA 22124
Hours: Seasonal and year-round part-time work. Approximately 15 to 30 hours per week. Shift times vary between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. and may include weekends and some holidays.  
Salary: Starting at $14.00 per hour, depending on experience. 

Overview: Oak Marr Golf Center is looking for an eager and willing to learn individual. This entry level position is perfect for those looking for a first job or someone looking for part time work. The Range Attendant is responsible for operating the range picker, ensuring the range is clean and operational, and providing exceptional customer service. 

Duties Include: 

  • Drive the range picker vehicle to collect range balls.
  • Monitor the driving range to ensure customers are adhering to rules and are being safe. 
  • Clean and restock ball machines. 
  • Pick range balls and empty range ball baskets. 
  • Assists with light maintenance, cleaning, and drink restocking.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Worker

Position Title: Maintenance Worker
Schedule: Shift times vary between 5:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., 20-40 hours/week.
Hourly rate: $15.00

Duties:

  • Push mowing using small equipment including weed eater and blower.
  • Weeding and mulching.
  • Landscaping and gardening. 
  • Raking sand bunkers, divot repair.

Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years old or older, able to lift 30lbs, savvy in using hand tools (shovel, rake, weed eater, push mower, pruning tools etc.), able to work in most weather conditions (extreme heat/rainy days), and able to use a computer (internet browser).

Position Title: Snack Bar Attendant

Hours: This position is scheduled 4 days a week, including one weekend day. Shift lengths are generally 6-8 hours long. 
Salary: Pay for this position starts at $13.00 per hour and may increase based on experience and certifications.

Duties Include: 

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons. 
  • Serve food and drinks.
  • Operate a cash register/point of sales system. 
  • Process both cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Clean tables, counters, and kitchen.

Jefferson Golf Course

Pro Shop Maintenance/Miniature Golf Attendant 

Salary: $12.00 per hour
Location: 7900 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042
Hours: 15 to 35 hours/week. Weekends and some holiday work is required. Hours may be affected by weather and time of year.

Pro Shop Maintenance: Works alongside a manager on duty to close the pro shop at the end of the day. Aspects of the job include restocking, washing the power carts, cleaning the grill, doing the dishes, sweep/mop/vacuum the pro shop and bathrooms.

Miniature Golf: Works as the attendant to check-in players. In the opening shift you will be required to set up the course. The closing shift requires breaking down the course, cleaning the bathrooms, and straightening up the pavilion. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

Duties: Manages the tee sheet and POS system. Will be required to learn the snack bar menu and how to make each item. Assists in booking tee times, tennis courts, and birthday party reservations over the phone and in person. This position provides an opportunity for the incumbent to learn the day-to-day operation of Jefferson Golf Center and provides a potential opportunity for advancement to a manager on duty position. 

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in customer service-related jobs
  • Basic knowledge of computers and POS systems
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work as early as 7:30am and as late as 9:30pm

Preferred Certificates and Licenses: A college degree (Associates or Bachelors). First Aid and CPR/AED certification and food manager license.

Manager on Duty

Position Title: Manager on Duty
Location: Jefferson District Park and Golf Course; 7900 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
Hours: Hours vary depending on the season.  Hours include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary: Starting at $16.00 per hour. 

Overview: Manager on duty with a variety of responsibilities to include opening and/or closing facility; conduct-ing register close-out at end-of-day; and assisting customers in all aspects of golf course operation, including the pro shop and food and beverage department.

Duties Include: 

  • Acts as manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager. 
  • Assists in managing the golf course tee sheet and point of sale system. 
  • Assists in the food and beverage department by cooking food orders for customers.
  • Responsible for closing cash registers and completing nightly closing paperwork as the closing manager and opening the clubhouse facility and preparing it for the day’s business as the opening manager.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work a combination of mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for an extended period.
  • Must be able to work as early as 5:00am and as late as 9:30pm.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Golf experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous food service experience preferred.  
  • This position will be required to obtain a food manager license soon after employment begins.

Note: This position is required to work a minimum of 1,040 hours per year but not to exceed 1,560 hours.  Hours per week vary by season and business needs and can include up to 40 hours/week.  Individuals in this position are eligible for benefits.
