CONTACT INFORMATION: Hidden Oaks Nature Center will open Saturday, June 25, 2022. Hours are weekends and holidays, noon to 5 p.m., weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The nature center is closed to walk-in visits on Tuesdays and is closed Monday, July 4, 2022.

NOTICE:

Through June 24, 2022, Hidden Oaks Nature Center will be closed and no restrooms will be available in the building for the public. Restrooms are available at the picnic shelter by the playground. Additional parking for Annandale Community Park, including Hidden Oaks, is located at the Packard Center, 4020 Hummer Rd., Annandale.

Nature Playce will be closed Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 9 a.m. to noon for camp. Nature Playce fencing will be replaced Saturday, June 25, 2022, therefore access will be limited. The entry to Nature Playce will be replaced Tuesday, July 5-8, 2022, limiting access to the front of Nature Playce.

Hop-a-Park Day

(4-12 years) Celebrate this national day by visiting at least three parks in Mason District in one day. The week prior, registrants receive a list of scavenger hunt questions to complete. Answer at least three questions from different district parks and return to Hidden Oaks between 1-5 p.m. for a prize.

Goodnight Walk: Bats

(3-Adult) Search the skies for native bats. Learn about these important insectivores through a walk and talk, craft and viewing specimens. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is registered in the program.
