Due to an FCPA co-sponsored event, Lake Fairfax will close for fishing Monday, April 4, 2022 and will reopen on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
Fishing is available year round at Lake Fairfax Park. The lake is very accessible for shoreline fishermen and has catfish, bass, sunfish, black crappie, bullhead, and bluegill. All anglers must follow all Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources rules and regulations.
Our waterfront parks are now featuring free fishing pole rods for rent at Burke Lake Park, Lake Accotink Park, Lake Fairfax Park and Riverbend Park. Rentals are available during office business hours. Please call the site for rental times and availability.
Lake Fairfax is open to fishing from kayaks. A daily launch fee or season pass is required for all privately launched kayaks. Use of any type of motor -- gas, electric or other -- is prohibited.
Daily launch pass: $5.00
Season launch pass: $40.00
Lake Fairfax offers fishing pole rentals for visitors. The cost is $10 per pole to rent. Visit the main office of the park to rent a fishing rod.
