This plaza style outdoor facility features 15,000 square feet of skating area. The plaza obstacles include a shark fin, manual pad, and euro gap with ledges and rails. The ledges and rails are all of the low to medium type. The bowl consists of three sections at 4, 6, and 8 feet, three high-to-low curved hips, and consistent 8 foot tranny radius throughout. A great place to learn and for experienced types to work on more challenging stuff before they take it to the street.
In Skateboarding classes and camps, beginners can learn the basics and more experienced riders can learn advanced techniques. Kids of all ages can utilize awesome jump ramps to perfect their ollies and other tricks. Skateboard classes and camps feature a beginner area for novice riders, plus more advanced elements such as mini ramp half-pipes, vertical ramp, half-pipes and bowls for practice.
There is an inherent risk in the participation in Skate Park activities. Users of the Skate Park, by their participation, accept the risks inherent in such participation of which the ordinary prudent person is or should be aware. Users have a duty to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner and follow the rules while using the Skate Park elements and obey all oral or written warnings, prior to and during participation.
This skate park offers a chance for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the thrills and excitement of skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX biking on our Freestyle and Competition courses. The Freestyle course consists of bank ramps, 4 foot quarter pipe, pyramid, grind rails and a grind box. The Competition course consists of a double jum-box, euro gap, bank ramp with kicker, roll-over radius, and a grind box. We also offer an outstanding viewing area with picnic tables and tents to allow for an excellent experience watching your friends and family in the skate park.
The Washington Capitals, in partnership with the Fairfax County Park Authority, are hosting a Try Hockey for Free program at Lake Fairfax Park’s new inline skate rink. Kids and teens ages 5-17 will learn the basics of ball hockey (stickhandling, passing and shooting) and receive a hockey stick and ball to take home to encourage continued development.

The Inline Skate Rink at Lake Fairfax Park, a joint project by the Fairfax County Park Authority and the Washington Capitals, boasts a 85’ x 185’ rink with player boxes, penalty boxes and bleachers. The rink, constructed with sport floor tiles on an asphalt pad, is ideal for roller hockey and skating, with easy maintenance and modular tile replacement. With ample lighting, the inline stake rink is great for daytime or evening events.
