Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2025!
Salary: $16.87 to $18.37 per hour, depending on certifications, education, and experience. 

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED! You do not need to obtain a lifeguard certification before applying. Our lifeguards are licensed through the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program and trained in-house. Training dates will be made available to applicants at the time of their interview. Training is provided for free. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age at the end of the course. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program. It is also possible to use your lifeguard license to transfer to an FCPA RECenter when the summer season is over.

Duties include:

  • Ensure health and safety of guests by pool surveillance and enforcement of park policies
  • Perform rescue and emergency care as needed (both in water and on land)
  • Provide immediate first aid treatment to guests in distress as needed
  • Maintain water and rescue skills at a "test ready" level at all times
  • Participate in regularly scheduled mandatory in-service trainings for a minimum of 4 hours per month
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • General cleaning and maintenance duties to include locker rooms, grounds, and pool
  • Maintain professional attitude and image at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Prerequisites for the lifeguard course:

  • Swim 50 yards continuously using a front crawl or breaststroke.
  • Retrieve a 10 pound dive brick from a depth of 5 ft.
  • Swim a minimum of 10 ft. underwater
  • Successfully get out of the pool at the pool’s edge without using a ladder, steps or ramp

Additional prerequisite requirements may be recommended or required.

Lifeguard Scheduling:

Each applicant will be required to bring their summer availability to an interview to include: Hours/Days you wish to work and any known vacations. Scheduling is done in two week increments and available online and real time through an online scheduling application. Click here to download our availability form. Our lifeguards may work varying hours between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Park Attendants/Maintenance Attendants work in a fast-paced environment while greeting our guests with a smile. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age by opening day. First Aid and CPR/AED training is not required prior to applying. Training will be provided. 

Duties include:

  • Cleans and maintains the cleanliness of the park areas to include:
  • Maintain cleanliness of Locker Rooms and Restrooms
  • Clean and maintain areas such as the pool area, splash park, front office and surrounding areas
  • Trash removal
  • Vacuum Pool
  • Enforce all slide rules, slide and dispatch procedures and safety requirements as assigned as slide dispatcher
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals in the park, locker rooms, splash park area, and surrounding areas through enforcement of park policies
  • Monitors the flow of traffic through the admission line
  • May assist in wrist-banding patrons, inspecting coolers and bags
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a CPR/AED certification
  • Provide excellent customer service; greet, acknowledge, and interact with all customers
  • Participate in regularly scheduled mandatory in-service trainings to maintain certifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Process transactions for admission, rentals, and merchandise
  • Provide general Water Mine and Lake Fairfax Park information to guests
  • Inspect coolers for prohibited items
  • Issue wristbands to guests
  • Welcome groups and assist with their entrance
  • Assist with weather related closings
  • Help keep line traffic flowing, as well as crowd control
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties to include locker rooms, grounds, and pool during scheduled rounds
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Under the supervision of the Admissions Manager and the Assistant Admissions Manager, Admissions Supervisors are responsible for overseeing all daily operations of admission including assistant admissions supervisors, cashiers, park attendants, and other areas as required, during their scheduled shift to provide excellent customer service. They may also be assigned to assist with the daily reservations scheduled during their shift. Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) operational seasons of guest relations/customer service experience or equivalent experience; and one (1) operational season of supervisory experience. These positions require a flexible availability which may include a rotating schedule of weekdays, weekends, early morning, and late evening hours.

Duties Include:

  • Ensure compliance of all agency cash handling procedures are followed
  • Supervise, organize, and guide Admissions Cashiers in the performance of their duties
  • Complete daily financial reports.
  • Close out and account for cash drawers.
  • Assist with managing pool closures and emergencies as well as other weather related closings
  • Assist with reservations check-in, payments, and related inquiries
  • Ensure completion of opening and closing duties
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times
  • Counsel and correct poor performance and behaviors
  • Enforce disciplinary action when necessary
  • Coordinate with aquatic staff to insure smooth operations
  • Help keep line traffic flowing, as well as crowd control
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensure a safe and efficient daily operation even when dealing with difficult persons or situations
  • Maintain professional attitude and image at all times
  • Assist in staff trainings
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment and make decisions quickly
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Under the direction and supervision of the Duty Manager, the Pool Supervisor is responsible for assisting with managing the daily aquatic operations of The Water Mine. Applicants must hold a current Ellis & Associate ILTP Lifeguard License and have a minimum of: two (Supervisor) or one (Asst. Sup.) operational season(s) in aquatics with progressive roles and/or leadership roles. These positions require a flexible availability which may include a rotating schedule of weekdays, weekends, early morning, and late evening hours.

Duties Include:

  • Organizes, directs and guides lifeguards and park attendants in the performance of their duties
  • Create and manage staff rotation, making adjustments to respond to changes
  • Enforce park rules and policies, apply safety standards, standard operating procedures, and disseminate pertinent information to guests
  • Conduct and document daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the facility and equipment
  • Conduct spot checks on staff members; conduct Vigilance Awareness Training (VAT) and other training
  • Maintains proper pool water chemistry. Notifies Duty Manager of variations from established ranges
  • Troubleshoot pool operational issues that arise
  • Performing lifeguarding duties as required
  • Manage first aid and life threating emergencies
  • Lead and manage small and extra-large groups
  • Assist in staffing trainings
  • Excellent customer service even when dealing with difficult persons or situations
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment and make decisions quickly
  • Clearly record documentation of incidents, injury reports, training, etc
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
