Position: Manager on Duty (MOD)
Location: Burke Lake Park
Hours: Part time/30 hours per week average summer 20 hours per week Fall/Spring. Will include mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Expected to work weekends and holidays.
Salary: $12 to $18.47 per hour

Job Description: The Manager on Duty ensures the safe and effective operation of Burke Lake Park. Opens and closes the park for daily operations. Is responsible for training park staff and informing park patrons on Park Authority Rules and Regulations, state and county laws, and other important information as well as performing routine park checks. Responsible for cash handling activities and reconciliation. Supervises and serves as primary contact point for park visitors, patrons, and facility staff. Acts as lead first responder on behalf of the Park Authority in potential and actual emergency situations occurring on site while on duty.  Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. or more. May work other park facilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Management experience. Ability to work alone in a park, work with others in a team setting, have effective communicative skills, and make decisions that may affect park operations. CPR, Boat U.S. and Basic Water Safety training recommended but will be provided upon employment.

Job Description: Hired applicants will be tasked with, but not limited to, cash handling regarding our rental boats and merchandise, providing customer service, racking rental boats, assisting patrons with pushing out and pulling in their rental boats, properly sizing life jackets to patrons, operating gas-powered patrol boats, and light maintenance of rental and safety equipment. Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. or more.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Boating and fishing experience preferred. Driver’s license required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to work alone. Able to repeatedly lift 20 lbs. or more. Camping experience preferred. Driver’s license recommended. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
