Lakefront Field Trip Opportunities
The Park Authority's three lakefront parks are like the chocolate chips in a cookie — large chunks of nature in the midst of a generally suburban county. They are ideal platforms for learning about the outdoors. Programs are available Monday through Friday mornings (start time: 10 am) from September until June. Staff permitting, programs may also be scheduled on select afternoons. Students may be divided into smaller groups.
Burke Lake Park Reservable Areas
Burke Lake Park has a variety of picnic areas, shelters, and amphitheaters perfect for hosting birthdays, weddings, church events and picnic outings. Reservable areas are open from dawn to dusk and fees are based on a per day, single use rate. The amphitheaters are rentable for a 4-hour block minimum.
Burke Lake Park Scout Programs
Boy Scout merit badges are offered that fulfill most of the requirements and certified merit badge counselors will work with your Scout to fulfill the remainder of the badge activities.
