Mount Vernon Rec Center has a variety of Matrix strength training machines and free weight equipment that offer diverse methods for achieving healthy levels of strength training.
The 25 meter by 25 yard, heated indoor pool features a zero-depth, beach entry area with two spray features. The pool area features the Park Authority's first aquatic climbing wall. The area also includes 3-meter springboard, poolside spa, dry heat sauna, locker rooms, wet classroom and spectator area with bleachers.
Our comprehensive programs promote safety, skill development, fitness, social interaction and fun. Sign up for classes or swim lessons online and purchase an Aqua Flex Pass to join a drop-in water exercise class.

The arena features a skate rental area, skate sharpening services, team locker rooms, instructor locker room, referee locker room and party rooms with skate-friendly flooring for events.
Reach new heights with the Park Authority’s only indoor climbing wall. This two-story artificial rock wall challenges everyone from beginners to advanced climbers. It features auto-belays as well as a bouldering area for an additional challenge. The Park Authority’s trained climbing wall attendants supervise climbers. This amenity brings a new sport to the community!
Put on those walking shoes and get moving on the Indoor Track! Open during the Rec Center’s normal hours of operation, patrons can get their steps in, no matter the weather outside. Located above the Red Rink, lanes are marked to accommodate walkers as well as joggers. Anyone age 16 and above can use the track alone. Those ages 12 to 15 may use the track with adult supervision (by another paying patron). Please follow the posted rules and etiquette. Get moving on the Indoor Track today!
Celebrate any special occasion at Mount Vernon Rec Center. Choose from party packages that offer access to exciting recreational amenities: pool, indoor climbing wall and ice rink. Packages include a party room and accommodations for up to 20 guests with tables, chairs and setup/breakdown. Host larger events with access to spacious multipurpose rooms and a warming kitchen to facilitate serving food to guests.
You’re at your best when you set aside time for you. Our drop-in childcare service provides children ages 6 months-10 years with a fun, safe, supervised place to play while you use the Rec Center.
