Ken Quincy, a resident of Vienna, was named to the Park Authority Board in March 2007 as the Providence District representative. Since his selection, he has played an active role in Board affairs. He currently serves as chair of the Budget Committee with Funding Policy and Bond, and the Planning and Development Committee. He also serves as liaison to the Fairfax County School Board.
Quincy retired from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1997 after 31 years in bank supervision and regulatory compliance. He served in bank examination and corporate application review, policy formulation, and management capacities. He has also provided volunteer service on various committees and the Board of Directors of Federal Deposit Insurance Federal Credit Union from 1974 to 2007. He has served as director, vice chairman and chairman of the board.
He also has experience as a volunteer serving as president of the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association and board member since 1998. He has served in the AARP Taxaide program, a program which offers free income tax return preparation for senior citizens and low- and moderate-income individuals. Quincy has also found time to provide volunteer instruction as part of the Fairfax County Adult ESOL program.
Quincy appreciates green spaces and is an advocate of open space preservation and the creation of outdoor recreational amenities such as trails, fields and other park facilities in Fairfax County.
Quincy's term ends December 2024.
