Laurel Hill Golf Club Rules

Park Authority employees and authorized volunteer staff have been trained and are obligated to enforce these rules and regulations. Failure to abide by these rules may also result in violators being ejected from the park immediately and prohibited from future use of park property, facilities or services.

 

  • In general, the course is open for play from one hour after sunrise until sunset.  Times vary drastically based on the time of year, maintenance needs, and golf outings.  Please call the course to inquire about specific operating hours.
  • Only players who have registered at the clubhouse, their accompanying spectators, and staff members of the Fairfax County Park Authority are permitted on the golf courses.
  • Spectators must register in the golf shop prior to going onto the course. Carts for spectators are subject to availability and may not be allowed if needed for use by players.
  • A maximum of four players are permitted in a group. Management reserves the right to combine individuals and smaller groups into playing foursomes at its discretion.
  • Formal golf instruction may only be provided by Laurel Hill Golf Club staff.
  • Junior golfers 8-11 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult, 18 years or older. Children under the age of 8 are only permitted on the practice areas and must be supervised by an adult, 18 years or older, at all times.
  • Golfers are responsible for the preservation of the course, facilities, and equipment associated with play. Any careless or unauthorized use of the course or facilities should be reported to the Golf Shop or the golf professional staff. Violations of rules or the failure to exercise reasonable prudence which result in damage to the course, equipment or property may lead to suspension of golfing privileges.
  • Golfers are responsible and liable for any injuries or property damage that result from golf balls they hit. All incidents should be reported to the golf shop immediately.
  • No pets of any kind, except those assisting individuals with disabilities or those working with park staff, are permitted on the golf course.
  • Walking, jogging, bicycling or other non-golf activities are not permitted on the golf course at any time.
  • Proper attire is required. No tee-shirts, jeans, cutoffs or sandals.
  • Soft spikes are required.
  • The possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages, except those served under the control and supervision of Park Authority staff, are prohibited. The possession of alcohol is to be strictly confined to the areas approved by the Virginia A.B.C. Board, and is not allowed in parking lots and other areas of the park.
  • In the event of an electrical storm, the golf course will be vacated immediately.
  • "Lost and Found" items should be turned in to golf professional staff as soon as practical. Items turned over to staff will be maintained until claimed. Items of value (i.e. wallets, jewelry, phone, etc.) will be turned into the Club Manager.
  • Each player must have a bag with at least six clubs.
  • Climbing the face of a bunker is prohibited.
  • The minimum age to rent or operate a golf cart is 18.
  • Golf carts are not permitted in restricted areas.
  • A maximum of 2 passengers may ride on a golf cart at a time.
  • Driving the golf carts in a reckless manner is prohibited.
  • Players are requested to repair ball marks, divots and trap areas after each shot.
  • Players are requested to refrain from profanity and/or abusive language.
  • Carts are to be returned to the clubhouse by sunset.
  • Range balls must be used the same day they are dispensed. Balls and their containers may not be removed from the park site.
  • Players must maintain pace of play as directed by staff.
