Operating Status

Marinas/Amusements may close early or be put on hold due to weather conditions. Please call in advance to determine the operational status when inclement weather has occurred or is forecasted to occur.

Under ConstructionNOTICE:

Trail users will not be able to circumnavigate the Lake Accotink Loop trail due to construction. A section of trail near the dam and in front of the spillway will be closed from June 6, 2022 through Spring 2023. The trail closure is due to the construction of a new bridge over Accotink Creek just below the spillway. The construction will result in trail users being unable to cross the creek or complete a full loop around the lake. The Cross County Trail is unaffected by this construction and will remain open.

For years the 26-horse antique carousel has been a favorite of area children. Built between 1937 and 1945, the carousel was purchased by the Park Authority in 1978 from Fairhill Farm antiques. The horses are handcarved and constructed out of wood and cast-aluminum.  The horses are painted in whimsical colors and designs that appeal to children and adults alike.  The carousel runs every 30 minutes when the marina is open.
