Fitness Center

Our cardiovascular machines, which include treadmills, elliptical trainers and recumbent bikes offer something for everyone.

Mount Vernon Rec Center has a variety of Matrix strength training machines and free weight equipment that offer diverse methods for achieving healthy levels of strength training.

Ice Arena

Enjoy the Park Authority’s two indoor ice rinks year-round. These state-of-the-art, National Hockey League (NHL)-size rinks host: 

  • Public Skate Sessions
  • Classes (Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey, Private Lessons, Pickup Hockey, Freestyle Sessions, Ice Dance, Stick ‘n Puck, Power Skate Sessions)
  • Events (Family Skate Nights)
  • Rentals (Team Practices and Games, Competitions, Shows)

The arena features a skate rental area, skate sharpening services, team locker rooms, instructor locker room, referee locker room and party rooms with skate-friendly flooring for events. 

Climbing Wall

Reach new heights with the Park Authority’s only indoor climbing wall. This two-story artificial rock wall challenges everyone from beginners to advanced climbers. It features auto-belays as well as a bouldering area for an additional challenge. The Park Authority’s trained climbing wall attendants supervise climbers. This amenity brings a new sport to the community!

Indoor Track

Get your steps in using the indoor track above the ice arena. This amenity will be open whenever the facility is open to allow patrons the opportunity to get moving no matter the weather outside.

Room Rentals and Party Packages

Celebrate any special occasion at Mount Vernon Rec Center. Choose from party packages that offer access to exciting recreational amenities: pool, indoor climbing wall and ice rink. Packages include a party room and accommodations for up to 20 guests with tables, chairs and setup/breakdown. Host larger events with access to spacious multipurpose rooms and a warming kitchen to facilitate serving food to guests.

Drop-In Childcare

You’re at your best when you set aside time for you. Our drop-in childcare service provides children ages 6 months-10 years with a fun, safe, supervised place to play while you use the Rec Center.
