Mason District
Rick Healy was appointed to the Fairfax County Park Authority Board in January 2025 to serve as the Mason District representative.
Healy comes to the board with extensive experience on natural resources and environmental issues. During a 35-year career with the U.S. House of Representatives, he held a number of senior staff positions with the House natural Resources Committee and the House Appropriations Committee, with a particular focus on legislation and government policies dealing with national parks, national forests, and public lands.
Healy was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas. He has lived in Fairfax County for the past 40 years with his wife, Cecilia, where they raised their two children. His community service has included leadership positions with the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL), the Camelot Civic Association, and the Falls Church High School Parent Teacher Association. Most recently, he served as the Mason District representative to the Fairfax County Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC), and was also a member of the Fairfax County Tree Commission.
Healy’s term ends in December 2026.
