This program includes indoor and outdoor activities and is approximately five hours long. Scouts should dress for the weather, as portions of the program may take place outdoors.
Requirements Covered
The program covers requirements 1-11 for the Environmental Science Merit Badge.
Required Before Class
Complete the following requirements before attending:
- Requirement 1: Environmental science
- Requirement 2: Ecology
- Requirement 4: Water pollution
- Requirement 5: Land pollution
- Requirement 6: Rare, threatened or endangered species
- Requirement 11: Environmental science careers
Additional Work After Class
No additional work is required if all prework and in-class requirements are completed. Scouts who do not complete all requirements during the program may receive a partial completion and finish remaining requirements with a merit badge counselor.
