Mount Vernon Rec Center Ice Arena boasts high quality amenities to help ice skaters reach their full potential. This area features two ice rinks — the Blue Rink and the Red Rink — that both meet National Hockey League (NHL) size specifications (200 feet long by 85 feet wide). It also includes a skate rental area with skate sharpening services, team locker rooms and party room with skate-friendly flooring for birthday parties and events.

Build the proper techniques needed for the game in our classes — basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend and other vital fundamentals. Use these skills and build on them to be successful in the game.

Looking to improve your skating skills, master freestyle elements, or boost your hockey performance? Our independent coaches offer private lessons for skaters of all ages and levels. Only coaches contracted with the Fairfax County Park Authority are authorized to teach at Mount Vernon Rec Center.

This season runs from August 15, 2026-Mach 15, 2027.
