Colvin Run Mill Hours and Fees

Hours of Operation

All facilities are closed to the public until further notice. The picnic tables are available for use on a first-come basis. Trail heads for the Cross County Trail are located nearby.

March through December: 

Office and building hours:  11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday through Monday.   Closed Tuesdays.

Park grounds are open dawn to dusk daily.


Winter Hours: January and February

Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Open 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The General Store is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Mondays unless school field trips are taking place. Mill tours are offered on the hour on Saturday and Sunday (11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.) and at 1 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Weather and scheduled events may affect tour hours.

Public mill tours take place at 1 p.m. on weekdays except Tuesdays. No tours on Tuesdays.

Weekend tours are hourly starting at 11 a.m. except during special events.   Last tour at 3 p.m.   

Tours last about one hour and include two ADA-compliant mill floors. 

For safety reasons, all visitors wishing to see the inside of the mill must be part of a tour.

Grinding demonstrations are noon to 3 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month, April through October. Call ahead to confirm that conditions permit grinding. 703-759-2771


  • No entry fee to the grounds for individuals or families. Entry to the mill is by paid tour only. 
  • Group Admission Fee For Grounds Only: $30 for groups of 12-60 people. For groups over 60, add $1 for each additional person. A group is any organized gathering or activity. Prepayment can be arranged by calling the office at 703-759-2771. Groups will receive a pass after payment. Please keep the pass available. Staff may check for fee compliance.
