One Fairfax
One Fairfax is a joint racial and social equity policy of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and School Board. It commits the county and schools to intentionally consider equity when making policies or delivering programs and services.
It’s a declaration that all residents deserve an equitable opportunity to succeed — regardless of their race, color, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, disability, income or where they live.

DIVERSION FIRST
Diversion First offers alternatives to incarceration for people with mental illness or developmental disabilities, who come into contact with the criminal justice system for low level offenses.

Charge Up Fairfax
Charge Up Fairfax is a program to help residents of homeowners associations (HOAs) and condominium owners associations (COAs) access charging for electric vehicles (EVs). Charge Up Fairfax supports HOAs in identifying and overcoming challenges, both technical and financial, to on-site EV charging for residents and their guests. For the purpose of this program, HOA communities can include multi-family condo buildings, clusters, or townhome communities that offer common area parking that is accessible for residents and their guests.
Home Wise
The Fairfax County HomeWise program educates, empowers and enables residents to make changes that reduce energy use, water use and associated costs in their homes.
Going Solar
This webpage provides resources for residents interested in installing solar panels in Fairfax County. Fairfax County encourages residents to invest in solar energy. By using renewable energy like solar instead of fossil fuels, you help reduce pollution and planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions. And solar power can pay for itself in 10 to 20 years.
Resilient Fairfax
Resilient Fairfax encompasses the development of a comprehensive Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan for the county and the community as well as the implementation of strategies to reduce risk to county residents, businesses, and infrastructure.

Fairfax County's Zero Waste program works to minimize solid waste in County facilities to close to nothing and to do so through a holistic approach: by rethinking not only how we dispose of materials, but also what we use and how we use it.

Fairfax County is proactively working to address climate change and its various impacts from all angles: mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. There are also energy education and outreach programs to reduce your energy use and your costs.
Parking Reimagined
The goal of this effort is modernization of parking and loading requirements, creating greater flexibility in the provision of parking for current and future land uses. The initiative involved an extensive analysis of parking and loading supply and demand factors, as well as local, regional, and national parking and loading trends.
The Parking Reimagined project was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, and is effective beginning January 1, 2024.
Silver Shield Anti-Scam Campaign
This campaign helps older adults avoid being scammed by sharing critical information about current scams.
SHAPE the Future of Aging
SHAPE the Future of Aging is a strategic plan to make Fairfax County a better place to age, for older adults to live safely, independently, and with dignity.
In Fairfax County, more people die from overdoses than car accidents. Data shows that treatment strategies are needed as the opioid epidemic evolves within our community.
Fairfax County's Opioid and Substance Use Task Force is a collaborative, cross-systems approach to combat the impact of the opioid epidemic. We have a plan to combat the opioid epidemic here in Fairfax County, but we need your help as well.
Panhandling
Panhandling can be found in most areas of our county, generating many questions and complaints from our residents. The good news is that our county has many services and staff dedicated to help those in need.
Speed Camera Pilot Program
The goal of the Speed Camera Pilot Program is to change the behavior of drivers and make our roads safer. Photo speed monitoring devices (speed cameras) will be installed in nine school zones and one construction zone in early 2023. Speed cameras will Improve the safety of our roads by protecting pedestrians and slowing down motorists, especially around congested and vulnerable locations.
Take a Moment Campaign
Fairfax County is committed to enhancing pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety by implementing a multi-faceted plan to reduce and ultimately eliminate traffic-related deaths and injuries. Whether you are walking, biking or driving, keep in mind that safety is a two-way street and is everyone’s job.

Speeding is a major issue in our neighborhoods. Slow down! You live here. We live here.
Train Track Safety
Trespassing on train tracks is against the law and has led to deaths in our county. About every three hours, a person or vehicle is hit by a train in the U.S. and Fairfax County wants to end that trend.
There are many ongoing collaborative approaches to addressing needs and issues in Fairfax. Initiatives exist to address domestic violence and assist with behavioral and physical health, school and work readiness.
